Chapter 01 · The expansion ashore
From vessels to plants
For years the platform watched engines at sea: a vessel's live data brought ashore, kept for the analysis afterwards. Then energy systems started asking the same question from land. Microgrids, power plants, the standby fleets behind data centres. What is my equipment doing right now, and what has it been doing for months?
Taking the platform ashore was my push as product lead. Not a port, an expansion: the same DNA of live data and history in one picture, now watching gensets, batteries, PV and wind assets, and the grid functions that hold a site together.

Chapter 02 · The operator's map
The plant, on one line
Ask anyone who runs electrical systems how they think about their plant and they will draw you a single-line diagram: the site reduced to what connects to what. So that is the product's map. One adaptive diagram that scales from a small demo plant to a large islanded genset farm, drawn the way the plant is actually wired.
You drill along it, plant to group to asset. Alerts and warnings climb the same path in reverse, from a single machine up through its group to the plant view. They propagate along the electrical truth of the diagram, not down a flat list. When something is wrong, you see where, not just what.
The design decision I would defend anywhere: the diagram is described, not drawn. A plant is captured as pure electrical structure, what feeds what, and the product draws the picture from that description. A new plant means describing it, not redrawing it. That is how the same diagram serves a small demo plant and an islanded data-centre site in southern Europe.
And it holds at scale, which is the part I am proudest of. That southern-European site runs dual utility feeds, a high-voltage ring and more than sixty gensets with their batteries. The whole plant fits on one screen, in one view, still readable. The layout adapts to keep the picture legible, an alert index names exactly which assets need eyes, and you drill from the full site down to a single machine. People assume single-line diagrams stop working at that size. They do not have to.

Chapter 03 · The feedback loop
The room that never looks away
There is a remote monitoring centre where this software runs on the room's main wall, all day, every day, in front of people whose job is to notice. That is the most honest review a product can get. Nothing hides on a wall.
Their feedback does not go into a backlog to age. It comes back as concrete product changes, shipped in weeks: alarm states readable across the room, values displayed the way operators actually say them, views tuned for a wall instead of a laptop.
I hold a simple line on this. Service and operations people deserve software that makes them heroes, not firefighters. The room tells us, week by week, whether we are living up to it.

Chapter 04 · Self-serve, carried across
Answer your own question
The chart and dashboard builder came across from the marine side, and it earns its keep ashore. Anyone on the plant team can pick signals, set the axes, save the view. No ticket. No developer. No waiting.
A plant manager's question at nine is a saved chart by ten past. That is the whole feature, and it is quietly one of the most used.

Chapter 05 · The road ahead
Why energy is next
Islanded sites and data centres live and die by standby power. A genset has to start every time, take load in seconds, and do it after weeks of standing still. You cannot inspect your way to that confidence. You measure your way there.
So the routine is test runs, and the truth lives between them: slow degradation that only shows when you compare a machine against its own history and against its peers. A plant full of identical gensets is a gift for this. Row after row of the same machine, same duty, same site. When one drifts from the pack, the pack is the evidence.
Peer comparison is the road to prediction, and the marine side has already walked that road to the end. Bringing it to standby fleets is the next chapter, and it is being written now.
